Gobshite and Disebeats (MGC) – Phnom Penh [2011]

MGC’s roots lie at the now closed down Castle Rock cafe based in Leicester city centre. Here on a weekly basis the city’s finest MC’s, DJ’S, graffiti writers and breakdancers would come together to enjoy the culture that is Hip-Hop. Through mutual love of the 4 elements, a crew was born, consisting of the above mentioned artists. Dise was resident DJ alongside Casio and Pohmone, and it was at this particular venue that Gobshite first grrabbed a mic. Tasker (a well known DNB mc in the city) also frequented Castle Rock, a mutual love of the music bringing together the crew now known as MGC. The Committee also has extended fam in Pip Jordan (P.I.P), Levi Muttock (Gobshites younger brother “Lewshey”) and newcomer Ryan Palmer (Synopsis). They have performed on numerous occasions in Leicester and surrounding areas, free parties and festivals, staying true to themselves and their peers. MGC has one aim, to rep as hard as possible in a scene that has lost it’s way and forgotten all about quality control.
