Experimental Products – Glowing in the Dark [1984]

If your going to do a synth-pop record you could do a lot worse than referring to this absolute classic from Experimental Products. Successfully blending the New Wave sound with the brutal electronica emerging from Europe, EP just nail this atmospheric synth classic. All your favourites are in here, the Prophet, Oberheim, moody vocals and lots of drum machine work. Definately one of the better synth pop offerings before they saturated the charts. Fabulous!

Unsure why this electro/wave classic hasn’t been reviewed before now. Obviously the choice cut on here is Glowing in The Dark, however this is a fantastic record with two other tracks that should not be under-estimated.
Mannequin is symbolic of the melodramatic synth visionaires; typically moody E.P, yet sprinkled with energetic, haunting vibes throughout. I think Love Changes is the unsung hero here. Again, the moody melodrama, with tantelising sweet melodies, synth stabs a-go-go and a sing-along- chorus.
